The modification resolves a persistent problem where videos would pause when switching to the rear camera or when the app was minimized, requiring manual replay. This change directly benefits those who use the app for streaming while parked or for passenger entertainment.
The update, labeled 1.7.51, enhances functionality in two of Fermata’s tools: FS Play and Xtream Player. In FS Play, YouTube videos continue playing seamlessly after rear camera use or minimization. Xtream Player now preserves playback progress, though users might still need to tap play again depending on their vehicle’s configuration.
This improvement targets a frequently reported inconvenience for drivers dependent on Fermata’s applications. However, the update bypasses the Google Play Store, meaning users must download it from Github and install it using AAEnabler, a third-party utility designed for non-native Android Auto apps. Existing users who previously installed through Fermata’s website must contact the developer for a new download link.
